Happy Workplaces® identifies and certifies the Happiest Workplaces based on 236 studies across 23 countries and the opinions of more than one million employees.
Happiest Workplaces Around the Globe 2024 is the most comprehensive workplace happiness assessment published to date. The 819 workplaces featured in the list were selected from a total of 16,829 companies across 23 countries, taking sector-specific differences into account, and were classified by industry.
The report also presents the 2024 HR trends, challenges, and core strategies reported by 724 senior HR executives. Respondents were grouped according to the workplaces they represented, allowing the analysis to identify how the Happiest Workplaces differ from other organizations.
The third section of the report examines the relationship between employee happiness and financial performance by comparing the 2010–2025 stock returns of companies included in the Happiest Workplaces Around the Globe list and traded on the stock exchanges of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Canada with the relevant national benchmark indices.

Strategies of the Happiest Workplaces
This section presents the 2024 HR trends, the challenges involved in fostering employee happiness, and the core strategies used to support it, based on responses from 724 senior HR executives in the Happy Workplaces® network (North America 31%, South America 13%, Asia 7%, Australia 3%, Europe 38%, and Africa 8%). The executives were grouped according to whether their organizations were listed or unlisted, and their responses were compared on that basis. This approach revealed the ways in which the Happiest Workplaces differ from other organizations.

Boosting Stocks with a Smile
This section examines the financial performance of companies included in the Happiest Workplaces Around the Globe list. The 2010–2024 stock returns of Happy Workplaces companies traded in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Canada were compared with the relevant national benchmark indices. The results showed that Happy Workplaces companies generated higher long-term returns in every market examined. Although the analysis does not establish a definitive cause-and-effect relationship, it reveals a strong correlation between employee happiness and financial performance. The findings also broaden the scope of earlier studies based primarily on the US market and provide updated evidence.

Happiest Workplaces Around the Globe
This section presents the lists of the happiest workplaces in their respective industries across 23 countries. Unlike conventional workplace lists, the Happiest Workplaces lists were created with sector-specific differences in mind. Each company on a country list should therefore be regarded as a leading happy workplace within its own industry. Of the 16,829 companies included in the analysis, 819 qualified for the World's Happiest Workplaces list. The methodology and ranking criteria are explained in detail in the report. The Country-Based Lists present the happiest workplaces in each industry within each country, while the Industry Leaders section groups the same companies by industry, bringing together the world's happiest workplaces in each sector.
